She received her Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Lander University and her Master of Education and Education Specialist degrees in Counselor Education - School Counseling from Clemson University. Kathryn has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings. She uses an eclectic approach to therapy that utilizes techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and others to provide individualized treatment. She also has experience working with many disorders such as Depression, Anxiety, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
Kathryn understands the day-to-day struggle of school, work, and home as well as the need for support in handling many of life’s stressors. She endeavors to support her clients in learning to work “with their brains” instead of “against their brains” and equips her clients with the tools to help them regain a sense of control over their emotions. Kathryn offers skills-based therapy, which teaches individuals how to cope with their difficulties and empowers them to grow stronger. Kathryn believes that therapy should be client-focused and patient-driven, so she tailors her approach to each client’s specific needs.
